• using convergence with different media, linking movies to music and others 
•  distribution and how it has a big role in movie production also with global institutions such as sony time warner
•  ways of marketing a product eg. using adverts to promote your product using interviews with actors producers and directors,using posters,trailers,promoting it in festivals and also making screening before the movie is distributed.
• time management in making of the movie for example with our production we had 2         months to make and finalise the editing 
•  brainstorming and generating new ideas in this category i learned how to think of new ideas for my movie such as different genres.
• ideas about genre and about horror intro generally research into the genre also the importance of sound creation of ominous atmosphere, creation of suspense in everyday settings
• directing actors and getting the right mise-en-scene.

Questionnaire (Audience research) after screening

After editing the movie introduction, we had a small screening for a few people. After that, we got the audience to fill in a questionnaire and we got several different opinions. There were a few things they thought we should change such as making some scenes brighter, changing the corridor scene, making the sound clearer, changing the duration of the background music.

4. Do you think the 'mysterious person in the corridor' is a good idea? 80%-yes

6. Do you find the piano instrumental scary in a way that it fits the genre? 95%-yes
7. Do you think the sound and lighting is good? 75%- yes
8. Do you think the camera work is good? 70%-yes

All Alone Movie Intro

Colin Burrows - Special Treats Production

On February 8th we went on a school trip to the cinema to see The Kings Speech. After the film finished we got a speech from Colin Burrows who is working with Special Treats Productions.
He was included in the production of several films such as The King's Speech, Casino Raoyal, Never Let me Go and Cementary Junction. He told us that all of these films had some problems, like in Casino Royal, Daniel Craig was the first blond man to ever be Bond and people were talking about he was too short. After they went to the Bahamas and saw him in the trunks they were convinced he was the right one.

I listened to what Colin Burrows had tro say and started thinking about the introduction that I'm making with my friend. I need to find out what problems may accure?, how we would want to sell it? and how we want people to see it?.

Special Treats Productions is a PR and marketing company. They have made trailers, events, making of, broadcast programming, press junkets, online interviews and EPK`s (Electronic Press Kits) in alot of big productions. Some of their clients are Universal, Paramount, Disney, Sony, Warners and 20th Century Fox. They also produce press events for the music industry.

If I was going to puplicise our film, I would arrange a interview with the acters and invite the media that would ask questions about the film. The famous acters that we have chosen to be in our film will attract people to come and see it. I would try and get the message out to the audience that the film is a horror movie but its not so scary so its suitable for children from 15 and older. This would give us a larger audience.

I think this film is more of a girl movie so I would maybe have a free screening only for girls. I would try to arrange a co-operation with, for example, Orange. If a girl has Orange as their phone operator they could send a text with the title of the film which is "All Alone" then they would get a text back from Orange they could show at the entrance of the cinema. This would allow them to get in for free with one friend.

Audience Research

For audience research we decided to do a film interview. We showed our animation to some girls and asked a few questions about what they thought of it.The responses we got were very positive.

Risk assessment for our project:

1. Identify hazzards

• falling in the stairs
• tripping over cables

2. Who might be harmed and how?

• the actors and the one filming can fall in the stairs
• everyone involved can trip over cables

3. Evaluate risks and consider precaution

• walk carefully in the stairs
• look out for cables
• the ones that are not acting can watch out for the ones that are

Dialogue:

Jo: hey jack,i've got to tell you something
Jack:whats up babe?
Alice:ive been getting these threatening texts and they are freaking me out,i have no idea who their from!
jack: (laughs) im sure its just someone messing with you, dont worry about it
(conversation interrupted by knock at the door)
Jo: will call you later,someones at the door.
(alice opens door and see's its Ivy(close friend))
Jo: Ivy! hey! what are you doing here? come in.
(Ivy walks in and they walk towards the couch)
Ivy: :Hey Jo! i was at a party just down the road and lost track of time and its too late for me to head back home now,its too far...can i stay over for the night?
Jo: yea sure..how was the party?
Ivy: :not bad actually,had alot of fun.what are you watching?
Jo: niceee....oh its this horror movie about 2 girls being tormented in their house (laughs) its quite scary actually.
Ivy: hmmm 2 girls all alone in a house sounds abit like us right now (laughs)
(knock on the door)
Jo: i wonder who that is?
Jo: noones here
Ivy: strange,its probably just some stupid kids messing around.
Jo: yeah..maybe...im gonna head up to bed (yawn) its been a long day.
Ivy: yeah im tired aswell,will come up with you.
(they go up the stairs into the room)
Ivy: goodnight
Jo: Good night!
2 hours later
(loud bang)
Jo: (scream)

This is the original dialogue we wanted to use but during the production, there were a few things we decided to change.
